Can animals transmit AIDs?

It has be hypothesized that this was how AIDS originally get to people. People consumption bush meat ( especially chimps, monkeys, gorillas ) get the AIDS from the animals and then started endorsement it among themselves sexually or through close contact and blood, drug use.
Some can. monkeys can for e.g. but other animals are immune to it.
