Unfortunately yes
I have have them twice, they are very stinging, if you recognise symptoms early satisfactory you can get treatment, which may lesson the severity of the attack. A bit similar to having rolled contained by a bed of stinging nettles, itchy and prickly all surrounded by one, but hurts to touch.
I found taking L-lysine helps curtail the attack and sometimes I have avoided a full blown attack. Try use up stress levels, and say a healthy diet, (fruit and vegies) also help.

Yep, they sure can. Shingles is actually a reinfection from chicken pox. The virus, simply like the one that cause cold sores, can hang around beneath the skin indefinately, it uses opportunities when our bodies are run down to build up numbers and trademark us sick and uncomfortable again.
Shingles is a form of herpes, and can recur.

I have shingles and although I hold had individual one outbreak, my doctor tells me they usually reappear. The virus is attacking your spinal cord and lies dormant for outstandingly long periods of time. When an outbreak appears it is other confined to one side of your body. This has something to do near the way the virus attacks the nerves surrounded by your spine. My doctor told me that at times of high stress these outbreaks appear to reappear. I'm told that if you've ever had the chicken pox you are a possible entrant for shingles. I fall within that category.
